EE scam text
Have you received some suspicious text message from an unknown number lately claiming to be from EE? The text messages usually have something to do with your payments having have had failed or some payment having had been made or an attempt to access your account by an unknown user and stuff like that.
A lot of these text messages have been received by a number of people and they are being sent from different numbers. If you have received one like this one then you want to know that they are a scam and not to be trusted. Below is an example of some of the text messages claiming to be from EE but are scams.
From EE : YOUR billing details are incorrect. Please update your payment method to avoid extra charges to your bill via : ee-paymentsupdate.com
From EE : We are having issues everything your Billing details. Update these details immediately at : ee-servicehub.com
From EE : We were unable to process your latest bill.
About the scam texts
This is just one of the many scam text messages that have been sent by these cyber criminals who are trying to steal your bank details. They are a phishing scam that has been sent using different bank names and other company names to gain the trust of the people.
The links don’t lead you to genuine EE sites but to some site that belongs to the scammers and the moment you input your details they are phished and the scammers can then access your account or charge your account without your consent.
Verdict
These messages are a scam. Do not click the links they try to make you click they may even contain malware which is not safe for your device and may redirect you to some fake sites such as fake lottery sites or fake sites claiming you have won items.
