Beware of calls that are being received by several people claiming that they are from a social agency or from some part of the government and that they they are giving Grant money or helping with money for the Covid 19 situation. This is an advance free scam where they will tell you that in order to receive this you will need to pay am advance fee so you can receive the whole amount and they may tell you that the amount you pay will be returned. Be careful of these scam calls they are fraudulent scammers that simply want you to send them money and then they will will disappear. Below are the Red flags of the site.

First of all that is really not how social agencies from the government give you grants there would be a lot of formalities and stuff. The scam is also a well known scam and has started to come back to the scene lately because the scammers know that people are desperate for money at the moment and people might just believe it because of the any grants that are being given by the government.

When the government really want to give you a grant they won’t ask you to make an advance fee as the case in this latest calls claiming you pay $200 and get $9200 They can just simply take the 200 from the 9200 and send you 9000 instead. You should try to trace the number of check for the owner of the number to see their identity but this won’t be possible because they try to hide their identity. They will also claim that a certain number has been awarded this great privilege, say for example 1500 people whilst the call is being received by more than 5000 people.

This is a pure scam and nothing short of that. When ever you come across a grant that is presented to you from nowhere you should be suspicious and esepcially if they tell you to make a payment first even if it is of a small amount as small as $5 because they may just use that trick to get you to give away your credit card details. Don’t get scammed. These calls that claim are from the social agency to give you a grant are scam call. Please report the number that called you hear and help spread awareness.
