Home Depot Coupon Scam: $220 Discount on Purchase of $250

Hello everyone and welcome to our review of some messages and posts that have been circulating and are being forwarded on whatsapp and Facebook claiming that Home Depot is giving away some $220 discounts to everyone that buys any thing that is worth more than $250 from them. This is some fake messages that are being forwarded by cyber criminals. If you receive this do not visit the sites where you are told to visit ad these are fake Home depot sites and risky as well and untrusted. Below is a sample of the fake messages and posts.

Is it legit?

These are not legit claims and you will be told to click some link to get your coupon. Once you do they will tell you to forward the posts a certain number of times and then tell you that you will get your coupon then but you won’t . Already there are a lot of people who have tried it and have not receive anything after sending the fake messages. You will only get more people to do it and the reasons behind this scam is unknown. But you may risk having your details stolen or being made to visit sites that are filled with malware.

Verdict

Do not forward the messages to anyone or do whatever they tell you to do. At times they may tell you to complete some surveys or offers which may earn them money. One way or the other it is always about the scammers getting money.
